Artist
of the Month Themes 2007-2008
"Artist of the Month" and in May "Artist of the Year".
Contest Rules: What ever your visual art is - ie: painting, jewelry, sculpture, photography, computer art, fiber art, and so on, make a piece of art showing how you interpret the theme of the month. For instance if a theme is Spring you may interpret that to be a landscape with all the colors of the new season. Or, you may think of Spring as water bubbling out of the ground. Or, perhaps you see a pretty little fairy sitting on a flower that blooms in spring or you might see an old rusty spring on a creaky old door.
What is your vision?
The winner will be by popular vote of the members in attendance.
(You gotta have your dues paid to vote or enter the contest.) In case of a tie, both win, no run off votes.
What you get for your efforts is to have a picture of your art work on the ALW website for 1 month along with the title "Artist of the Month."
In May, the theme will be "Artist Choice". The winner of the May contest will be the "Artist of the Year" and have their art work up on the website from mid-May until mid-September when the contests start again for the next league year. Once again, in order to enter your work in the contest or vote for your favorite, you must be in attendance at the meeting. No, you can’t bring your art work, sign in, leave early and have a friend take your art work home. Attendance in this case means until the vote is taken which will be during the social time between the general meeting and the program. Any questions call or email your committee.
